Tonight I headed off to 'Borsch Vodka & Tears' on Chapel St*. Such a cool place! It's a crazy vodka bar where they have 100 different kinds of vodka! I sampled a couple, but one of the was a green fairy! You know that crazy drink from Moulin Rouge? It's 70% alcohol... whoa...

Anyway, this place is awesome! It has a great atmostphere (although it's empty in this photo). They have candles lighting all the tables, and live music consisting of a piano-accordion and a violin. They play cool Polish music. How fun! If you can, get down to this place, it's great fun! 173 Chapel St Windsor.

Ok, latest celebrity crush? Jamie Cullum. Damn that man can play! I wish I could play the piano like him. I bought his live dvd yesterday and words cannot express how impressed I am. I adore his voice, and his music is brilliant. I love his arrangements of songs already written, and the stuff he writes himself blows me away. I bought his latest album last week and it's brilliant! I haven't stopped listening to it since I bought it! I'd do anything to go see him live, but I can't see any plan on his website to come to Oz any time soon. :( Jamie, come to Australia!



EDIT: I've just looked through the archives of Jenny's blog and have realised that Jamie was in Australia in April! I have no idea how I missed this opportunity to see him live!!! It seems that I even commented on Jenny's blog about it. What the?! I'm so sad now!

My condolences go out to our beloved socceroos. SO UNFAIR!!! THAT WAS NOT A PENALTY SHOT!!!! AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!! We had a good run. Well done boys. You've earned our respect!

I know i've said this before, but it seems pertinent to do so again. I tragically over-identify with Bridget Jones. I just watched the first movie again.

Today I read for Jesse's film again. He had second round auditions today, so I went in again to read with the potentials. Was kinda fun! Made me want to act. Almost. Actually, I think I'd rather like to act. Not sure how good I am, but I definitely enjoy it. I don't think I'm a completely tragic actor anyway.

Slept in my own bed for the first time in a while last night. It was awesome! I love my bed...

I went to see Kelly & Grant's new house last night! Yes, they bought a house. It's sooooo far away, near the Puffing Billy. But it is a beautiful house in a gorgeous area. They've done very well for themselves! But I think they are having their housewarming party while I'm away. :(

I'm having people over tonight, so I should go and clean up a bit...

Go Australia!!! How awesome is Kewell? But can we PLEASE have Schwartzer back?!!! I'm loving watching the soccer, but damn is it making me sleep deprived.

Well I'm not going to see my parents for about a month. They left this morning for their holiday. They get back next Saturday, then I leave for Nimbin on the Tuesday and will be gone for 3 and a half weeks. And for the last 3 days I've been kinda living at Anna & Rob's place anyway. Lots of soccer and movies! I need to go back to bed though. Soooo tired...

How many celebrity crushes can I have at once?

Tonight I headed off to the Espy in St. Kilda with Anna, Rob & Alison. We had such a great time seeing "Dusted Orange". I hadn't seem them live before. They won JJJ's unearthed competition in 2003, so they're doing pretty well for themselves! If you have no idea who they are or what they sound like, they sound a lot like "The Butterfly Effect" if that helps. You can listen to samples of their music on their site. Anyway, I suggest getting along to see them if you can, they are great!

I'm heading in to the Espy tomorrow to hand in a Synergy cd to hopefully score a gig or two there. You all have to come if we score a gig there!

Well, I'm definitely going to Nimbin! How very exciting! I'll be going for about 3 weeks leaving on July 4th. I'm going up with my friend Sabine from uni. We're being billeted out with a local Christian family who live 8km out of Nimbin. Thanks heaps to Rob & Rikki Fischer for organsing everything up that end for us! I'll be running Rhonda's radio show on a Sunday morning from 7-11am, but apart from that we're pretty much going to be free. Byron Bay is only half an hour away, and the Gold Coast is an hour and a half or so. Did I hear someone say DAY TRIPS?! The weather is going to be so much better up there! I miss working on radio, so I think it'll be really great to get back into it for a while. God is defintely looking after us! I was given $100 last night to put towards fuel costs for the trip up there! How awesome is that?! It's going to cost a few $100 to get up there and back, it's a long, long way (to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll)! I was a bit worried about costs and being able to afford it all, but it seems that God is providing! As he tends to do! :) I leave in 2 weeks and 1 day. I'll be taking so many photos!

Just got home from Anna & Rob's place, a few of us were there watching the soccer. Go Australia! Unfortunately Brazil were just a bit too good for us. Oh well, we can still make it through to the next round if we win our next match.

So tired... must sleep...

Last night I went out with Alison & Kathryn into the city to celebrate the end of semester and being free of study for a while! We had such a great night! First of all we went to this bar in Federation Square which was fun, but not that exciting. Then we decided to find somewhere more fun, and Kathryn took us to The Purple Emerald on Flinders Lane. That place is awesome! They had this really awesome funk/jazz band and the atmostphere was pretty awesome. It was just so much fun. We had some drinks, danced and chatted to a couple of guys from the band for a while. If you get a chance to see "King Armadillo" I suggest you do. They rock! I had so much fun last night! The most fun I've had for ages!!!

Then today I read with some actors for a short film. Glen's son Jesse is a film maker and he was auditioning actors for his new movie, so I read with those people who came to audition. I've never done something like that before, and it was kinda fun. I'd love to be a voice actor or something, be a voice on an animated show. How fun!

Well it's 2am and I have finally finished all my assingments. It's over for another semester! Whoo!!! I've been at it all day/night... I'm quite relieved. But now my brain is all active and there is no way I'm going to be able to get to sleep. I hate that... Might find a mind-numbing dvd to watch for a while...

Well classes have finished for the semester (as of last Monday) and I have almost finished all my assignments. The last of them are due in tomorrow, so I'm madly trying to finish them off. I only have 1 to finish now. I did 2 others this afternoon. I've had a really productive day today actually. GO ME!!! I'm looking forward to tomorrow when it'll all be over for another semester. Sigh...

We won our first Volleyball game tonight in our new competition. Whoo! Go us! Thanks to the fill in players, ie. Chris (Kathryn's brother) & Neale (Wire's brother). You guys rock! And of course to Kathryn & Wire themselves! There were only 5 of us tonight as half our team had other, more important things to attend to. :P GUILT TRIP!!!

I woke up this morning with a blood nose for no apparent reason. I hate that.

Well I have an opportunity to go up to Nimbin for a month or so to take over a Christian radio show on a Sunday morning. The lady who does it wants a holiday and needs someone to take her place. So seeing as I worked as a radio announcer for 2 years, I might go up there on my holidays and run her show while she goes away. It's kind of exciting. Nimbin is a VERY alternative community, and I'm quite excited about their live music scene. I'm still not sure I'll go, and I don't really want to go by myself, so if anyone wants to go with me, please let me know! It might be for most of the month of July, or just before. Which is soon I know. I think it'll be an adventure anyway! I'll keep you posted on what I decide.

Well we had a really fantstic night last night! The gig went really well and we had such a great time! I'd like to say a really huge thanks to everyone who came along and supported us, we really appreciate it! We sold enough cd's to make back our production costs, which is a pleasant surprise, we didn't expect to do that so soon! If you missed out on a cd and you want one, you can email us and we'll get you one. They are $10 and have 5 original tracks. There were 2 of us taking it in turns of playing last night. Obviously there was us, and there was another girl (Kerri Ma) and her band. They were really great too! It was just a great night really. Here are the promised photos!

Had my second last day of classes today for the semester. I have one more day on Monday, then it's holidays for 6 weeks. Whoo! I'm going to have to find something to do wth myself. I need to get another job... I've really struggled this year with motivation, so my marks haven't been that great because I haven't put in as much effort as I could have. Next semester will be better hopefully.

I can't think of anything to blog about. More later.

Well I dropped off all the stuff off at the printers last night and we have a cd coming! I designed the album cover and all the album art work stuff and dropped it off at the printers last night. It'll all be burned, printed and ready for our gig on Friday. I'm so excited!!! We're finally going to have our very own cd! It's $10 a cd if you're interested. Plus postage if you're not able to get to us and you still want a copy. I can't wait to have one in my hands!

How very exciting! We have a cd! I picked up the master copy at lunch time today and it sounds great! I'm so happy with the way it turned out! It's being burned and printed as we speak by a company called Orsino Images. A huge thank you to everyone who helped. Thanks heaps to Cazz for helping us record and mixing everything! WE LOVE YOU!!! And to Ben (from Orsino Images) for making sure we get all the cd's printed in time. I can't wait to have a finished product!

Why is it so hard to follow through long term with goals that you set for yourself? Stupid waning motivation...

I've realised how boring my blog is these days. I just went and read over some of my old posts from over a year ago. I was so much more interesting then. I'm going to have to do something to spice up this blog purple monkey dishwasher.

I most definitely have the urge to pack up and travel around the world right now. I've wanted to for ages, but lately I've been seeing all this stuff about mission work oversees, and I've been watching movies about people who move to another country. I really feel like travelling right now. I feel quite dejected not being able to go. I want to experience other cultures and be exposed to things outside of my realm of experience. I'm a bit sick of my daily life really. If only I had the money. I want to go to Nepal, India, Vietnam, the UK, Canada, North Africa, South America, Italy & Germany, just to name a few places. Sigh... I can dream...


Had a great dinner with friends last night. It was a lot of fun chatting and laughing! After talking about fun movies I went home last night and watched "The Princess Bride". I love that movie! Inconceivable!

So it seems that I tend to get silly celebrity crushes from time to time. Quite frequently actually. Some of my more recent crushes have been on Frank Woodley (Shut up. I know he's too old for me), Steven Gates (Gatesy from Tripod) & at the moment it's Hamish Blake. He's just so funny! And he seems like a nice guy. I don't know him at all, in fact, I don't know anything about these people apart from their stage persona, so it's quite ridiculous really. Oh well. It'll have to do until I find a boyfriend of my own...

Go me! I have almost 200 now!

By the way, I should have put this in AGES ago! But a huge, massive, almighty congratulations to Trev (who I went to high school with) & Jessie who are engaged! I actually have a photo of them now from their recent engagement party. Yay for you guys. I wish you all the happiness in the world!
