More Photos!

Thought I'd get back to the wedding photos! Becaus I'm sure you haven't had enough yet! This one is Amy & her mum Janet when we were setting up for the reception the day before the wedding.

Elise the flower girl! She's so adorable! She was constantly pulling faces such as this whenever she saw a camera. Awwwww!

More bridal party photos, (from left to right) Wendy, Amy, Troy & myself. Looking gorgeous of course! :P

Amy & I on the wedding day stuffing ourselves with sandwiches for lunch. I have my jacket on over my dress coz it was soooooo cold!

Don't the boys scrub up nicely. This is Luke (left) & Malcolm (right), the groomsmen.

Someone (I can't remember who) was asking about my hair. From the front it looks like I have the whole thing in curls. No way! That would have taken forever and I would have missed the wedding! So here is what it looked like from the back.

This is Troy & Amy the night before the wedding when the bridal party went out for dinner together in Longford.

And this is Wendy & myself on the same night. We look quite different without all that makeup...

Amy & I after she became a married woman. No more silliness for her. She's a real grown up now. As you can plainly tell from this serious snap.

What a lovely family snap of the Chenda's during the reception!

This is Dan, Amy's oldest brother. Obviously silliness is not a family trait... Another connection, I was in an acoustic trio with Dan when I lived in Tassie. Lots of fun! He's a very talented song writer!

A lovely post-wedding photo of the Townsend clan!

This is Chris & I doing our best model poses. Think anyone will hire us?

Hello Nat! Our delightful photographer and friend! Never a dull moment. And he is quite sneaky at taking photos when you're not ready for them... Grrr...

And finally! This is Steve & I. I used to work with Steve on the radio down in Taz. He's such a great and funny man!

Recording & Gig

Well we did our recording today. We couldn't get it all done today though, so hopefully we'll finish it off on Wednesday. Get excited! Synergy are coming to a record store near you! Or not, but you can buy a cd off us! Here is our album cover (as designed by Me!)! It will be available soon!

And we have a gig coming up on Friday June 9th. We'd love to see you guys get down to see us play! We're playing at the Greensborough Christian Bookshop. It's attatched to the Greensborough plaza, and all saints church. They turn the shop into a cafe once a month and showcase local(ish) artists. We'd love for you to come along and support us! It's a free gig, so there's some extra incentive! We'll be playing a mixture of originals and covers. Another woman called Kerri Ma will also be playing. From what I understand she's incredible! We'll start playing at 8pm. Hope to see you there!

Urban Seed

Just wanted to share with you about Urban Seed. They are an amazing missional group in the heart of Melbourne. I have been looking into them and I'm really excited about what they're doing! They work with the homeless of Melbourne and really do amazing things in providing for their needs and meeting them where they are at. It sounds so full on and intense. There are live in residents that choose to live an 'interruptable lifestyle' where people can buzz in at any time of day or night if they need anything. They also work with lots of drug adicts. I can't do them justice, but I strongly advise you do look at their website and see for yourself what they are doing. They are really trying hard to make a difference in the unseen community of the Melbourne CBD. In our small group tonight we were talking about homelessness in our city and our response to it, and we are planning on getting along to see what Urban Seed are doing. I'm so excited about this! I really want to make a difference in my society!

This is their mission statement:
Urban Seed aims to respond with love and concern - to be good neighbours- to those we find in our Melbourne city neighbourhood. This theology of 'neighbourliness ' with a special priority for the marginalised underpins our mission.

Giggles!

From time to time I get silly crushes on celebrities that I'll never actually meet. Mostly musicians. Right now, it's Gatesy from Tripod. I saw Tripod live last week as I said and they were brilliant! Gatesy just has such a beautiful voice. Granted I have actually met Gatesy a couple of times, but it's more a 'hi, you're awesome and can you please sign my dvd' rather than a real conversation about anything even remotely meaningful. I adore listening to him sing... Sigh...

Struggling

Still struggling for motivation to study. It's 2am and I've just finished an assignment that's due in tomorrow. I haven't done as much work on it as I should have. I just can't seem to make myself do any work. I can't start anything. I don't know why. I never had this problem last year. It's frustrating, but I just feel like I can't do it, or can't start it. I don't get it. :( Only 3 weeks of the semester to go. But that means I have a LOT of work to do in the next 3 weeks. I don't know how I'm going to do it honestly... Sigh...

Synergy Ideas!

Well, seeing as Synergy (ie Ingrid & I) have a gig coming up (and the venue is going to promote it for us!), I am tossing around ideas for logos and promo shots. I love to know what you guys think of some of my ideas. Being the terribly awful graphic artist that I am, I have no idea what I'm doing! I've just taken some photos and tried to photoshop them. Some of them are meant to be promo shots, others potential album covers. I have no clue what I'm doing really. Anyway, here are 2 of the final products I came up with. The one of us is for the promo posters and stuff, and the sky one will be our album cover. WHOO!!! I'm quite excited really! A huge thank you to the wonderful Ratty for designing us some logos! The one on the bottom pic was done by Ratty. There are some more potential pics on the Synergy blog if you want to check them out. I really like a couple of other ones on there I haven't posted here.

Aplogies

I must apologise to anyone without broadband. It must take forever for my blog to load at the moment. Sooooooo many photos...

I went to see Tripod today! For those of you who are super confused, Tripod are a Melbourne based comedy band made up of Yon, Gatesy & Scod (from left to right). They did a free instore performance at JB hi-fi in the city today. They launched a new DVD today called 'Pod August Nights'. Damn those boys are funny! I first saw them about 6 years ago, and they are as funny as ever! I was in the front row today, was great to see them in full swing! Coz it was just a DVD launch, they played for about 40 minutes, so not a full show or anything, but still fantastic! They did a few songs I hadn't heard before which was great, and some older songs I still love! To finish the show they did something I've never seen them do before. They did a cover of a song. Seriously. No jokes or anything. And they were BRILLIANT!!! These guys truly have incredible voices and they did the most amazing cover of "Paranoid Android" by Radiohead. 3 part harmones without instruments some of the time (even though they only have 1 guitar most of the time anyway). Scod played the guitar for a lot of it, but it sounded even more amazing when it was acapella. I could listen to them all day. Definitely get your hands on a copy of their cover of Paranoid Android!

So anyway, I went to the gig with Alex and we had a great day hanging out together, we even had Thai for lunch Mmmm... Yay for Alex! If you want to see a video clip of Tripod, you can go here. This isn't a typical song for them I don't think, but you video gamers will love this one!

More Of Taz

Well consider this an official theme. I think my next few posts will be all about Tassie. Even though not all my time down there was enjoyable, I did make some fantastic friends. I miss them heaps and it was so awesome getting to catch up with some of them again! Some are fellow bloggers, some aren't really into the whole internet thing. But either way, they'll end up on my blog!

This is the gorgeous Biz while we were hanging out for lunch on Friday.

And this is some of the old gang, from left to right we are, Brandon (over from Canada), myself, Biz, and Bowen (aka Zormie). Bowen now works for Fusion up on the Gold Coast and the other 2 live in Poatina (where I stayed while I was down there).

Bowen & I looking gorgeous as always. Hmmm...

This is Chris & Biz. Chris now lives in Sydney, but did live in Poatina while I was there. Gotta love Chris!

This is the amazing Di! She is Kris' mother (Kris is about to appear in a photo). I stayed with Di while I was in Tassie this time round. Yay for Di! This is the only photo I took of her, and her eyes are closed! Oops! But isn't she cute with her cuppa tea and her blankie?

This one is Kris & Biz. They are getting married later this year and are some great friends of mine from Taz. I plan to be back in Taz for their wedding in September if everything goes to plan! :)

And this one is Biz & I. I have just reaslied that Biz is in almost every photo that isn't of the wedding. Haha! Enjoy your blog fame Biz!

This one is Josh & I waiting at the airport for our plane to Melbourne from Launceston. Josh lives in Griffith, NSW with his wife and 3 kids (with a 4th on the way!) and works for Fusion. We studied together in Tassie when I was there. Yay for Josh! It was great to spend time with him on the way home, we hadn't seen each other in ages!

More wedding photos are coming next post, I just thought I'd slip some non wedding ones in there. Hang in there, I did warm you about the extreme amounts of photos to come.

WEDDING ONSLUAGHT!!!

Well sit back and get ready for a thousand photos! I had such an amazing few days down south. I really enjoyed my time down there, catching up with the old gang and getting all weddingy. That's a word right? :) I spent most of my time on wedding stuff, but I loved it all. I want to get married just so I can have a wedding! Amy looked absolutely stunning and the whole day was just great! You can click on any of the pictures to make them bigger if you want a better look. So people, prepare yourself for way too many photos for one post...

This is the garden they got married in. It's called Brickendon and is a lovely historic farm type place right near Longford in Tassie. I took this photo the night before the wedding while we were rehersing and setting up.

This is the sunrise on the morning of the big day, I took this on my way to Amy's house to get ready. Isn't it stunning? That's one think I adore about Poatina. Amazing sunrises and sunsets!

Amy putting on her makeup in the morning.

Hmmm... quite a close up photo of me there... This is in the morning as we were getting ready.

Amy & I as we were getting ready in the morning.

Amy in her dress almost all ready, still having her hair done. Isn't she stunning?! It was such a beautiful dress! It had some beautiful pink embroidery I think you might be able to see there.

This is Amy & Troy as Nat was taking the official photos. We actually did all the bridal party photos before the ceremony. Non-traditional I know, but it saved heaps of time later. Quite practical really.

This one is the bridal party minus the bride and groom. From left to right we are: Luke, Me, Wendy, Malcom.

The boys were supposed to act like they were pulling the cart and we were supposed to pretend to be having fun up there, but then the boys really did pull the cart! So we all screamed and tried not to fall off! Very fun!

Amy & the boys!

After the official photos, the boys and girls went their separate ways to have lunch before coming back for the ceremony. This is an all important lunch time makeup touch up. Amy is a mary kay consultant, so she did all the makeup for us girls, and what a beautiful job she dide!

ME!!!

This is a photo from during the ceremony. Isn't the place stunning? And before you ask, yes, we were FREEZING COLD!!! Who gets married in Tasmania, outside, in May! Honestly!

As they were making it legal, signing the register. i was singing off to the side during this. I sang 'come away with me', by Norah Jones. Love that song. It seemed to go well. I got lots of positive feedback anyway. Yay!

The happy couple after the ceremony. Aren't they cute?!

Us girls after the ceremony. Elise was the flower girl. She is Wendy's daughter. Amy was actually the flower girl at Wendy's wedding. Isn't that nice?

And this is the happy couple cutting the cake at the reception. It was supposed to be snow capped mountains. Great cake! Quite appropriate for the weather really...

So all in all it was a fantastic day. I had an amazing time and am so honoured that I got to share Amy & Troy's special day! I hope you are all photo'd out! :)

I'm Back!

Well I made it back in one piece. I can't be bothered writing much now, but let me warn you, I took about 450 photos over the few days I was away, so you'll be getting a few... I had such an amazing time in Tassie. It was soooooooooo fantastic seeing all my friends down there again. I missed them heaps! And the wedding was just beautiful!!! Amy looked stunning! I had such a wonderful time! We had plane trouble on the way home and were delayed for an hour and a half, but I did arrive home eventually. Right now I am exhausted and need some sleepy sleep. More posting tomorrow, complete with a photo onsluaght (just for you Billy!).

Blerk & Goodbye

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Isn't he cute?

Anyway, this is a goodbye post. I'm leaving for Tassie this afternoon, so I won't be around for a few days. When I do get back, prepare for waaaaaay too many photos! I'm so excited! Amy gets married on Saturday afternoon, and up until then I'll be doing wedding stuff, and catching up with old friends I haven't seen since July last year. I'm really looking forward to my time down there, but I'm also slightly trepidacious, because I didn't leave there on the best of terms with the organisation I was working for. That should be ok, but it may be slightly awkward at times. Let's hope not.

I'm so excited that I get to be a bridesmaid for the first time! And I'm singing while they sign the register as I've said before. I'm singing 'come away with me' by Norah Jones. It's such a beautiful song, I hope I can do it justice! See you all when I get back! Love to you all! Mwah!

Poem

Here is my poem, as tagged by alank

The Daring One
by Edwin Markham

I would my soul were like the bird
That dares the vastness undeterred.
Look, where the bluebird on the bough
Breaks into rapture even now!
He sings, tip-top, the tossing elm
As tho he would a world o’erwhelm.
Indifferent to the void he rides
Upon the wind’s eternal tides.

He tosses gladly on the gale,
For well he knows he can not fail—
Knows if the bough breaks, still his wings
Will bear him upward while he sings!

I Feel Pretty!

Well I picked up my bridesmaid dress last night! I'm sooooo excited! It's beautiful! I'll take a thousand photos (probably quite literally) while I'm away this weekend, you'll be so sick of photos! On Thursday night when I get there, we're having dinner together (not sure who, just a big bunch of us). Then on Friday I guess we do wedding preparation stuff and the rehersal, then the bridal party is having dinner together. Then Saturday is the big day! I fly home on Sunday afternoon. I can't wait! I love weddings!!! I also can't wait to catch up with all my Tassie friends. It's going to be such a great few days!

Oh, and we lost again at volleyball last night. But we ALMOST won! It was a good game!

Volleyball Rocks!

I'm looking forward to volleyball tonight. I'm playing in 2 competitions at the moment, so 2 nights a week are taken up. It's great though. I'm loving it. We're losing most weeks coz we're playing in a higher grade, but I'd rather that and be challenged, than win easily and get bored in a lower grade. I love volleyball!

I leave for Tassie in 3 days!!! WHoo!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Barry!

Happy birthday to you!

Happy birthday dear Barry!
Happy birthday to you!

Barry is my uncle (Dad''s brother) and he rocks! Have a great day Barry!

We just came back from lunch at Barry & Karen's place. So yummy...

Exercise Is Evil!

Well I've stuck to my healthy eating/exercise plan so far. It's been about 3 weeks now. Go me! I've usually given up by now. Unfortunately I've only lost 4kg, but I'm still going! My plan of losing 10kg before the wedding was obviously ridiculous, so I might just have to settle for 5kg or something. I'm sad that 'the biggest loser' isn't on tv anymore, because that was such a great motivator! My thighs are not liking me very much after tormenting them on our elliptical exercie bike thingy. Damn that thing kills me. But that's good. Yay! I'm going to look so hot...

One Week To Go!

I have mentioned before that I am going to Tassie next week, but now that it's so close, it deserved a post! That's right! I'm off on Thursday (next week). One of my best friends, Amy, is getting married! Whoo!!! I'm one of her brdiesmaids which is super exciting. Wendy (who lives in SA) is also a bridesmaid. I'm also singing at the wedding, so that makes me feel ultra special! I'll be singing 'come away with me' by Norah Jones and accompanying myself on piano while they sign the register. I'm really excited about seeing all my friends down there again. I haven't been to Tassie since July last year, so I miss my friends a lot! Yay for all you bloggers in Tassie! I'll be there for 4 days, from Thursday evening til Sunday afternoon. I have classes on Monday, so I couldn't stay any longer. It'll be a short trip (my shortest to date), but I'll make the most of my short time!

I went to see my dressmaker this morning to get my final fitting for my dress. I'll take photos and show you at the wedding, but trust me, the dress is gorgeous. We're all going to look beautiful! I'm desperately exercising and eating well in an attempt to lose a bit more weight before the wedding. I can drop 10kg in a week and a half right? Right?! Hmmm, but then my dress wouldn't fit. Such a dilemma...

This is Amy & I at the botanical gardens when she came to Melbourne in January.

I'm so excited!!! I love weddings!!!
