Energy

I seriously lack energy. It's a problem. I'm so impressed that my last blog recieved so much attention. It takes emotionally energy to write something on a deeper level. I want to commend everyone who has taken the time and energy to discuss what seems to be a very intense subject. I can sometimes have a lack of desire to use the energy required to engage with deeper material. Deep things require energy, even though it is emotional energy I think it can be increidbly draining. I feel so drained from study sometimes, and all you do is sit down and read or listen or discuss, but taking that emotional energy can leave you tired and drained. One of my friends thinks this is why shopping can be so exhausting. All the decision making takes it out of you.

I noticed that my brother posted about this in his blog thing, but I'd like to explore this also. The weather definately affects my mood and my energy levels. I know that some people suffer from seasonal depression and I think I suffer from it in a mild form. When the sun is out I have more energy and I feel more motivated to do anything. But when it is overcast and cold I feel a lack of desire to do practically anything. I hate it. I don't want my feelings to dictate my behaviour, but it can be quite difficult to get motivated when your feelings just aren't pulling you in that direction.

Yeah, i think the weather can definitely affect peoples' moods. I have a friend who is currently working at the Davis base in Antarctica for a year, and i was browsing the Australian Antarctic Division website and some of the logs the crews have written. Apparently during the winter down there it's not uncommon for the team to get really depressed and down. Where they are stationed, the sun disappears completely for about 6 weeks (they're not far enough south for it to be completely dark, but the best you get is an orange glow on the horizon). when the sun starts to appear again at the end of July, the mood of the crew picks up again.

having said all that, i don't think i've ever noticed my mood changing according to the weather. but maybe i just haven't paid enough attention...i don't know.

I don’t know why but you saying that talking about deep things reminded me of Jack Handy.
“If you ever drop your keys in a pool of molten lava, just let them go because man…they’re gone”

I don’t have the weather depression issues that you have. When it is overcast or raining I just throw on some Garbage and I’m set. The only problem I have with the rain is that it makes me want to smoke (I don’t know why just the aesthetic of it) but I don’t because it is stupid and because even more so for me because I have acute asthma.

I can't imagine asthma and smoking are a good combination! I have asthma myself and can't imagine being a smoker! Even if for that reason alone, but don't get me started on how ridiculous I think smoking is.

Go Garbage! I love them. But they can get quite depressive at times.

Sometimes I like rain, but it's a rare occasion. And I'm still scared of thunder at the ripe old age of 23.

hehe, you like liking rain is a rare occasion - at the moment rain itself is rare for us! seriously, how long is it since we've had decent rain? was that big storm back in feb the last big downpour? i think it was. since then i think we've only had occasional light rain.

Yeah, rain is a precious commodity at the moment. Huge problem in Melbourne. I hate water restrictions. I love showers, and I'd love to just stand under there for half an hour, but I shouldn't.

    i am the complete opposite.

i am miserable when it's sunny out .. i hate the heat .. i can't stand being sweaty .. i get lethargic and depressed.

i love it when it's cloudy and rainy ... that is when i'm the most energized and motivated ... i feel awesome on those days.

HATE IT! being all hot and sticky.. yuck...

That wasnt meant to be from anonymous... it was from Nomes :D hee the thingy is just being crap and not letting me put my name.

    Haha! Ni Nomes!

Nice to see other people aren't affected by the weather the way I seem to be!

I'd be the brother referred to in the blod. Weather effects my mood massively. Sun means I'm the chirpiest guy on Earth, overcast means I'm feelin' like a lousy bum with nothing to contribute.

I reckon it can be overcome. Hella hard though.

Strange how differently we all react to weather! if at all.

I totally relate to the weather affecting moods comment. Summer I am at my happiest, and winter is just a season to get through before Summer comes around again!!

I feel better when it's summer and the days are long and hot because I do more exacise then and feel better physicly. I don't like water restriction eather, but it's not so bad for us because I dug a dam in the back yard a fiew years ago and now we have our own water source. Try it.

We have a rain water tank, but it doesn't solve the problem, just helps.

I love summer!!! It was so cold when I woke up this morning. But the sun is out, so that's a good thing.

    Hi Blogger,

Thank you very much for Energy, it was an informative post, very useful.

I'm currently researching information for teenage adhd, would that be a topic that you are familiar with?

If you could help point me to the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time and effort.

    Warmest regards,
    Hoe Bing

I've seen this post before but important things are always worth reminding. After all, repetition is the mother of learning.
