Sad & Struggle

Well, Kathryn left for America yesterday and Alison left for Queensland a week ago. I won't see them for 6 months. Very sad. Exciting for them though. I'm sure they'll have amazing times!

I'm really struggling to find a counselling placement. I have to get one for my uni degree, but I'm finding it really hard to find a place. I've been applying through lots of organisations/government departments to get a placement in a women's prison. It's so hard. If anyone has any ideas. Let me know! I'll take almost anything at the moment.

    Simple. Murder.

Kill someone in the position you want, then take the job. Murder solves everything.

Yes, such a simple yet effective plan. As a friend, I am happy to 'assist' with the execution (excuse the pun) of this plan.

Well I'm glad everyone is on board to help me, however, I can't see how killing someone gets me a placement! It's not a job that needs to be vacated before I take it, it's an organisation willing to take me on as a student.

Perhaps we could threaten to kill them if they don't. Although then I may end up being the one in prison...

But it would solve your problem, right?

It woudl solve it sure. But create many others. Actually, no. It wouldn't solve it. I'm sure I wouldn't get my desired outcome by doing that.

which prisons have you spoken to and who?

I haven't spoken to any prisons, but I've spoken to lots of organisations who do counselling and might be able to help me. I think I need to go through an organisation rather than directly through a prison. At least that's what everyone I've spoken to has told me.

Yeah, I can picture wire and guru talking execution and various other UNHELPFUUL comments - but CHRYSTAL??

Shocking what motherhood does. Maybe start by practising your counselling on her!

Suzie D might remember the name and even have the number of the woman who runs the women's Prison fellowship - Suzie and I sang in the Deer Park facility once or twice.

One of the women from UNOH used to be invloved - Glenn J might remember her name from a conference he went to last year where she spoke.

Or a long shot might be one of my sisters whose a prison officer down Geelong way...

Concern Australia has a program called Inside Out which is connected with the prisons (Caz works for the schools arm of Concern).

Does the organisation you do the placement with need to provide supervision or does your course provider organise that bit?

    see you soonly, Ludicrosity.
