World Music Festival

On Sunday I headed off to the world music festival in Clayton with Alison, Rob, Anna & Rob. Lots of fun! There was some cool craft things and some really great live music. The highlight for me was seeing the Oxo Cubans. Mal Webb is in the band if that means anything to you. Very weird, but super cool!
Another highlight was getting a henna tattoo! It'll only last for a couple of weeks, wish it would last longer. Here is a pic:

If you want it to last longer, why don't you get it tattooed for real?

Coz I don't think I want it forever, just a few years. Wish I could get a semi-permanent one!

My husband and I have decided that, if the presidential elections in November don't go our way... we're moving to Australia. So then I wouldn't have to be jealous of all these cool festivals you get to attend. Do you have pics of the festival?

Love henna... that's a great job they did. I haven't gotten a henna tattoo in four years. I'm lame. :-(

Nah, didn't take photos of the festival, didn't take my camera. Just took a photo of my henna tatt when I got home so I could remember it!

Hope you do move to Australia! Gotta move to Melbourne though! Then we can show you all the sites.

Did you know that the word 'Henna' is a derivitive of the Hindi word 'henni' which means 'to decorate'?

...Actually, i just made that up. I'm practicing in case anyone asks me to play Balderdash with them. It hasn't happened yet but when it does i'll be ready.

And now (so as not to appear a jerk), a real definition!

(The plant)Henna, Lawsonia inermis, produces a red-orange dye molecule, lawsone. This molecule has an affinity for bonding with protein, and thus has been used to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather, silk and wool.

Hence why we have Henna tattoos.

Henna was named after hens, because the stuff smells like chickens?
