Evolution of Beauty

I'm sure most of you have seen this before, but if you haven't here it is. And if you have, it's worth watching again.

Oh man that is so weird.

I was thinking about this video just know<.

Thinking about how I showed my teacher one and a half years ago - and haven't thought about it till just now.

    What is the chance?

    Scary stuff.

This video just goes to show how absurd our perceptions of beauty are and how expecting that sort of beauty from anyone is insane.

You know, a while back when the film "Monster-In-Law" was about to come out they released some promotional photos from the film. One magazine was accidentally sent the pre-photoshopped ones, then immediately got an email asking to delete said photos due to them being "corrupted".

The magazine, obviously, did not delete them and promptly got sent the photos they were meant to get.

The newer photos were of the exact same images but pit stains were painted out, wrinkles were erased and they manipulated both actress's faces to look more attractive.

    Ouch.

My favourite example of this was when this world class airbrush artist created this perfectly lifelike drawing.

Like perfect. Looked exactly like a photo down to the finest detail.

The magazine that put it as the front cover airbrushed the painting removing details like wrinkles and hair on the clothing.
