Books, My Old Friend

I love reading. It's so involving, stimulating and satisfying. I haven't read a book for my own pleasure since about February I think. I really miss it.
Today I started reading a book. I haven't read something non-study related for a looooong time! I'm re-reading 'the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy' series. This will be my third time reading them. Some of the best books I've ever read! If you haven't read them, you simply have to! Genius!
I'm off to do some more reading now!

I'm not much of a reader, but I intend to take a crack at that once you're done with it.

Personally, I love stories, but not so much when I read 'em. I wanna watch 'em or hear 'em. Much be a brain type thing. Or a laziness thing. :P

Hah! FG reading. That's something I like to see :p

Sorry, still can't take you seriously until you've read the ENTIRE Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Oh, yeah, in relation to the post, I love reading too. Stupid uni taking all my time up. I keep meaning to read CS Lewis' Screwtape letters again, but never have the time...

I hear you. I've bought a number of books this year that I still haven't read. I'm going to make a deliberate effort to read every day, even if it's only 10 minutes. I really miss it. I've realised just how much since I started reading this book again. So good!!!

Oh yeah, and Guru, you should totally read more, for someone who claims to love stories and writing so much you should definitely read!

    Amen.

I have recently taken the Sword of Truth series up again. I put it down a while ago because the character interactions are sometimes painful and predictable (one character plays the "I am putting the pieces together and present a good argument" role and the other plays the "I am ignorant and I'm going to disagree with you no matter what logic you use" role, and then they swap).

I am, however, enjoying it immensely. I had forgotten how much I missed that world.

Haha! Love it dboy. I have sooooo many books on my 'to read list' at the moment! It's such a great way to relax and stimulate your mind.

I haven't read for pleasure since July, but I'll make up for it in a big way come the end of next week.

I don't relax when I read, I get frustrated. I'm too heavily depended on visual and audible storytelling. Reading a bunch of text for so long drives me nuts.

Books on tape, however, I love. I have no idea why I don't get more of 'em.

I was thinking of listening to a book on tape and seeing what it was like.

Actually, I've decided that I might stop reading so many books. I don't have any trouble fitting my reading in - travelling by public transport to and from work each weekday and travelling by plane to Canberra each month gives me plenty of time. But I can't think of anything that I have to rush out and read now. Plus, I've run out of bookshelf space.

Anyway, the best book I've read over the past year is Martin Amis' 'Money'. The main character's a dirty *choose your own expletive*, but the writing itself is very amusing.

I've had to make the tiem to read, I drive everywhere, so no public transport reading time for me.
I might have to look into that book!
