   Well, it puts emphasis on division rather than emphasis on the similarities between people. Considering the population of most western countries have vastly varied worldviews anyway, what is the purpose of patriotism other than to lead people to seeing their country as superior to another?
   
   I don't actually know the answer by the way, nor do I think I'm right on this one, but I wanna know what people think about this.

   I think patriotism is fine if it's not to the detriment of others. Loving your own country is a great thing in my opinion. It only becomes a problem when you say, therefore everyone else is inferior.

   What is Patriotism, if it is not thinking one's country is superior?
   
   If it's not that, then it is mindless loyalty to an arbitrary placement - mindless loyalty is always dangerous.
   
   Devotion to one's place of residence can only lead to division between other 'living places'. How does that make sense? At least proper racism had an (admittedly morally flawed) genetic separation.
   
   Of what use is Patriotism, other than leading to extremism and prejudice?
